THE PROCESS:
FROM CONSULTATIVE TO TURNKEY
Leverage Media’s level of involvement depends on its clients’ needs and comfort level and can run from consultative to completely turnkey. In launching a new publication, we’ll typically meet with clients to discuss the type of publication they’re looking to produce, the audience they’re looking to reach, the message points they’re hoping to convey, the substantive issues they want to cover, the sources they’re able to supply, the timing they’d like to achieve, and the budget they have available. DESIGN, EDITORIAL, PRODUCTION
From this discussion, we develop an editorial plan and architecture for the publication, create a design and templates, and suggest press run and distribution options. Once the plan is finalized and story ideas are developed, we’ll assign stories to the appropriate journalists, put these writers in contact with sources (both inside and outside of the client organization), and work with the writers as they develop their articles. As the articles evolve, so does the design for the issue and the illustration or photography plan. The client generally sees and approves the copy in both edited manuscript form and in page proofs, with the art in place.
THE DISTRIBUTION PLAN
To develop a distribution plan, we work with the client, from the time the audience is identified, to demarcate such demographic parameters as job titles, industries, geographic areas, company sizes, and the like. With those outlined, we work with our list specialists to develop a list of controlled subscribers who will get the magazine.
